Went down a mini pc initially, but after a month of fiddling with powerdvd, mpc and the various mvc codecs, I never got it working as good as I wanted it. I was in the same boat, have a nvidia shield but needed 3D mvc. Or you could build a cheap HTPC with a nvidia graphics card in it running KODI or something similar. I can use either a laptop with a Nvidia suppoorted graphics card and just plug it into my amp whenever I want to watch a 3D movie (most movies in my collection are blurays anyway). This is just the trail I followed.įrom that, I can build a system to suit around it. This also isn't the only method to get 3D to work using MKVs for anyone that doesn't have an Nvidia card in their system. It's probably worth mentioning that I also have the K-lite codec pack already installed, which comes with LAV filters. So for anyone else with an X5000/X7000/X9000 (or any projector for that matter that uses the full-frame packing method for 3D, and is thinking of going with. It constantly crashed and so did MPC-BE player. The UI leaves a lot to be desired though. Though JRiver media center 23 gave outstanding results in terms of picture quality!! I was blown away.
